The requirement

BHP required additional commercial kitchen capacity at its remote nickel mining operation in Western Australia to meet the increasing catering demands of its FIFO workforce.

The existing facilities needed to be expanded to accommodate additional personnel while maintaining efficient meal preparation and food service operations.

The solution needed to be practical, reliable and suitable for deployment in a remote mining environment.

Our solution

Mobile Kitchens supplied over 10 modular commercial kitchens to increase the mine site’s catering capacity without the need for extensive permanent construction.

The additional facilities were designed to support the existing kitchen operations, providing increased food preparation and meal production capacity for the site’s FIFO workforce.

The project demonstrates Mobile Kitchens’ ability to deliver significant temporary commercial kitchen solutions to remote mining locations across Australia, supporting workforce accommodation camps and large-scale catering operations.
